# Alpha

The Alpha Set is what started it all as the first ever sold, with Splinterlands launch in May 2018. It was also the only set whose summoners and monsters were reused (in the Beta set) because of the initial low supply of Alpha cards.

Today, players earn a 10% Rshare bonus for each Alpha card used in battle. Alpha Booster packs have become exceedingly rare, but Alpha packs and cards can be purchased in the Splinterlands [Card Market](https://splinterlands.com/market/card-sales) or various other third-party markets.

### Cards from the Alpha edition are playable in all Wild Ranked Battles. <a href="#cards-from-the-alpha-edition-are-playable-in-all-wild-ranked-battles" id="cards-from-the-alpha-edition-are-playable-in-all-wild-ranked-battles"></a>
